Game Night Ornaments
The night everyone keeps open, the friend who always hosts, and the names that belong around the table.
Before the game begins, somebody is still parking, somebody has opened the snacks, and the host is dealing or shuffling anyway. The same people find the same seats. Soon the week is being discussed almost as seriously as the score.
Those names make an easy Christmas set. Order one identical ornament for every player, or change the featured name on each while keeping the table, game, and year the same. Bring them to the last game in December and let everybody open theirs at once.
A mahjong table can use four names around four racks. Bunco can borrow the group name or rotating host. Backgammon, chess, and bridge can use the partner, opponent, club, or annual match. The tile, die, board, or deck shows the game; the weeknight and names make it your table.
