Wood brings its own pattern to the project. The grain runs behind a name, house line, map, event mark, or restrained logo, so the finished set is consistent without every piece looking mechanically identical. That small variation suits a gift meant to join a tree rather than a pile of promotional stock.

Engraving works in line, contrast, and negative space. Send the artwork, quantity, personalization plan, and delivery date. We prepare an engraving version and a proof within 48 hours, then schedule production after approval.

Artwork that engraves clearly

Strong outlines, solid shapes, readable lettering, and deliberate empty space translate well to engraving. Names, dates, handwriting, houses, buildings, maps, trees, animals, emblems, and simple logos can all work. Fine gradients, soft shadows, and photographic detail need to be redrawn or moved to a printed material.

Vector files such as SVG, AI, or EPS give the cleanest starting point because the lines can be resized without losing their edges. A high-resolution PNG can work when it has a clean background and enough contrast. The proof shows the simplified engraving artwork before anything is cut.

What changes when color becomes line

A multicolor logo cannot be burned into wood as separate printed colors. Its shapes have to become dark engraving, open wood, outlines, or a small number of distinct tones supported by the chosen process. The proof should preserve the recognizable structure, not imitate color with a crowded field of tiny marks.

Look at the logo in black and white before choosing wood. If it remains clear, it is a promising engraving candidate. If color carries all of the recognition, printed metal is likely the better material.

Put the recipient ahead of the logo

For employee gifts, a person’s name, role, service year, office, or team can take the main line. The company mark can sit smaller, move to the back, or appear on the gift box. For clients, a local landmark, house, year, or seasonal illustration may make a better front than the logo alone.

A piece designed as a gift has a better chance of belonging among the recipient’s own ornaments. It can still identify the organization. It simply does so with the confidence to leave some space around the mark.

Individual names from one spreadsheet

Per-piece personalization can change a name, role, jersey number, classroom, office, address, or service year while the shared design remains fixed. Supply one row per ornament and keep each variable in a separate column. Include the exact display form, not an internal database version that loses accents or preferred names.

Test the longest name in the proof. Decide in advance whether type may scale slightly, whether a second line is allowed, and how blanks should be handled. One approver should sign off on the final list before production.

Round, shaped, or cut through

A solid circle, oval, arch, or tag gives names and line art a stable field. A custom outline can follow a house, state, animal, product, or organization mark. Cut-through details create light and shadow, but narrow bridges need enough wood around them to survive packing and annual storage.

Keep the hanging hole inside the composition. Check that it does not cut through a roof peak, letter, ear, or fine logo point. Finished dimensions should be shown on the proof, especially when a wide mark has been fitted into a round piece.

Employee, client, event, and closing gifts

Employee sets can carry individual names. Client and donor pieces can use a place, year, or seasonal design with quieter branding. Events and anniversaries can center the date. Realtors can make the client’s name, new address, or house outline the gift and keep their own mark on the box.

Schools, teams, units, and clubs can merge rooms, roles, credentials, or numbers. The bulk page covers recipient data, split shipments, packaging, and larger production schedules when the job extends beyond the ornament artwork.

Proof, production, and December delivery

The proof is prepared within 48 hours after the brief and usable artwork arrive. It should show the engraving conversion, wood and shape, finished dimensions, front and back, hanging hole, longest variable line, ribbon, and packaging. Production waits for approval.

November 21 is the cutoff for December bulk delivery. The calendar starts filling in October. Custom outlines, complex redrawing, individual shipping, and late recipient-list changes need an earlier start.

Questions people ask

What is the minimum order?

25 pieces. Pricing steps down at 50, 100, and 250.

Can every ornament carry a different name?

Yes. Supply one spreadsheet row per piece with the exact display name and other variable fields in separate columns.

What artwork file should we send?

SVG, AI, or EPS vector artwork is ideal. A large, clean PNG can work, and the engraving conversion appears in the proof.

Can wood reproduce a full-color logo or photograph?

Engraving converts artwork to line, contrast, and wood tone. Choose printed metal when color, gradients, or photographic detail must remain.

Can you make a custom shape?

Custom outlines are possible when the artwork and quantity support them. The quote and proof confirm dimensions, cut details, and any narrow structural points.
